If you check the read noise diagrams on Bill Claff's page, you will see that 6D2's read noise is about 30% higher than 6D's read noise, at ALL ISO. 6D2's QE is also higher than 6D's, but only by about 15%, not enough to offset the disadvantage in read noise. I see no reason to go for 6D2 for astro. 6D is better, and cheaper of course. Cheers
The EOS 6D II's JPEGs are pretty typical for Canon, with rich reds, a very slight orange tinge to the yellows and no obvious cast to the blues. The result is one of our favorite color responses of any of the current JPEG engines. This is also likely to mean a more attractive starting point for Raw conversions if your software of choice makes.
