Today i upgraded my pc to a RTX 3060 and Ryzen 7 5700x from a 1650 4gb and 3600x. For some reason while booting alyx for the first time it keeps crashing after a little while in the north star section to be precise. Checking event viewer some of the errors include- vrwebhelper.exe, steamtours.exe, OculusDash.exe. OnoVR • 7 days ago. Not really. The beauty of SteamVR-compatible devices is that you can use whichever you prefer. However, since Alyx supports finger tracking on motion controllers and was specifically designed for the Index Knuckles, it’s best to play with them.
Opinion: I know Half-Life: Alyx was meant to be a pioneer in the world of VR and it clearly is, but a lot of Half-Life fans are missing out on a new game because they don't own a VR headset, Valve should try to release a regular version.
Likely Half Life Alyx 2 or Half Life 3 as launch title. By then very likely Half Life Alyx has been released on the PS VR2. I know Valve (Gabe Newell) is an early believer in VR and based on that were willing to go out of their way to create Valve Index and Half-Life: Alyx as the launch game for the system. This happened to me too. In my case it was nothing to do with headset sensors. I was physically crouching down to look into an air duct and may have clicked the joystick accidentally. I ended up very tall. The game has an option to stand/crouch by clicking the left joystick in (as u/Oof_alex mentioned).
The finger tracking is nearly identical and you can just buy haptic gloves anyway. No clue where you're getting that from. $300 for a Quest 2 and $60 for Alyx. Even if you don't like Facebook it's still only $600 (always on sale for $500 direct from HP, including right now) for a Reverb G2 and $60 for Alyx.
Usually Vr games are a lot less clumsy then regular games. You are just used to playing games with keyboard/mouse or a controller. If you know somebody that never played a real first person Videogame in his life (like maybe your girlfriend or their friends) let them play half life 2 for an hour and half-life Alyx. I have actually done that. And I’ve heard that there’s a mod to play it without VR, but I thought I’d ask before buying. I mean it’s a case of play it like that, not not play it ever for me, but I don’t want the experience to be so bad it ruins the game for me. It’s probably gonna be a very long time, I’m only 18 and I don’t think my computer could handle VR
We can finally play HL:A without vr! (Link to the mod in the videos description) !! WARNING !! The mod isn't 100% done its still in development but it's playable. The VR experience of this game is an entire category above video games. If someone bought a headset solely to play this game, it would be money well spent.

It depends what you're looking for. As a little adventure and an opportunity to dive back into the Half-life world, yeah, it'd be good. You'd also get to see events that happened between HL1 and 2. If you actually want decent combat and gameplay then, imho, no. Combat would have to be re-worked (more enemies that move faster and in a more .
